April 30, 2008

I found a couple of items in the April 2008 Crave vlog to be of interest.

The Nokia N95 (first item on the vlog after the intro’s, about 40 seconds into the vlog - about 4:30 remaining) is about a neat little phone which, when running the Qik video streaming service software, can be used to do live video blogs (well, with a five-second delay), transmitted straight to your website. Talk about real-time vloging!

The Crave vlog also covers the Flip Video Ultra at about 3:10 to go in the vlog. This is a little 640 x 480 camcorder that doesn’t really look like a camcorder. And it’s optimized for easy upload of video. It’s been the best-selling camcorder on Amazon due to its low price (about $150) and ease of use.

They also talk about some other interesting products, including a slash-resistant t-shirt (offering some protection against knives) and a digital photo blow-up service so you can make a photo big enough to cover a wall.

If I find any more interesting gadgets this month, I’ll be sure to let you know.

    Hi, everybody!

I was just informed yesterday that the linked Crave vlog has now disappeared and the link is broken. I apologize about events beyond my control.

The individual gadgets can still be found on Crave but the vlog about them (and some other gadgets) is now gone.

As we can’t find a replacement the link has been removed. Thanks for the notification.

Got something to say?
