by Joel Falconer

One year ago, we put up a humble pre-launch website. It warned you of our plans for the future and asked for a few brave souls to jump on board and write along with us.

Then six months later, we launched the Free Articulator, a vehicle for ideas whose time have come and the web magazine for creatives, by creatives.

Now another six months have passed and we’re presenting you with the next evolution of our vision; something that looks, feels and acts like a real web magazine, and is filled to the brim with content that can help you in every creative endeavor.

We call it “TFA 2.0″ colloquially and it comes with a variety of new features:

  • A brand new look and feel (more color, perhaps my favorite part!)
  • An improved conversation system on each and every post
  • Practical Free gifts for subscribers
  • The new Feedback section, where we publish your letters to the editor
  • Better profiles for our contributors so you can find out more about your favorite writers
  • More art, music and literature for your enjoyment and great creative career advice

There are also countless improvements behind the scenes that make it easier for us to bring you great content that you just can’t do without.

I’m also proud to introduce you to some new contributors:

Gordon Jackman comes to the Free Articulator with a series on a rare book he found and why it’s important - find out more for yourself with the first part of The Myth of Progress.

‘Doc’ Don Sturgiss is the computer doctor and he brings readers of the Free Articulator new ways to use computers for creative purposes, and provide some insight into the computing lifestyle of the future that may be of use to Creative Artists working in the field of science fiction.

Branwen is the Free Articulator’s resident medieval messenger reincarnated, with a passion for Renaissance fairs and lre-enactment. She’ll take us with her as she joins a re-enactment group and prepares for a tournament while conducting research for a fantasy novel.

In a few weeks you’ll see the first Free Articulator Feature published and soon after that, the launch of our monthly PDF magazine which you can read from your computer or print and read on the train; it’s called TFAMonthly and each edition is filled with premium content.

I’m also incredibly happy to inform you that all new subscribers will receive a free copy of NDK’s Writing Tips - it’s an eBook filled with inspiring practical advice of relevance to every creative discipline and you can be reading it in minutes - once you subscribe the link will arrive in your in-box straight away.

If you subscribed to the Free Articulator in the last six months, don’t worry - simply log in and you’ll be given the download link in the top right sidebar.

Welcome to TFA 2.0. We’re very proud of it, and we hope you enjoy it. Love to have your feedback in the comment section below!

I just have to say that working with Joel to create TFA2.0 has been a remarkable experience. This is how it should be when creative individuals come together and commit to creating the best possible work, for the best possible reasons. There are others who are doing some awesome work, behind the scenes at Allforart, and now that we have TFA 2.0 we’re ready to begin the next phase of collaborative creativity and we’re going to punch it up a notch or ten.For any who should have the privilege and pleasure of working truly with this exceptionally gifted and generous man know that you will be enriched by the experience to a degree that will only become apparent as time reveals the full extent of what you accomplish together.Awesome job, Falconer. :-)

Congratulations Joel! Awesome job on TFA 2.0! I LOVE the new layout! This looks oh-so-professional (not to say that version 1didn’t). This really shows that TFA means business!
